Nuria as Ottavia was particularly enchanting, performing heart-wrenching, soaring lines that ranged from self-pitying to absolutely incensed.

Hello!

I’m Nuria (nuh-REE-uh), a lover of opera, board games with friends, and anything in the form of a noodle. I recently graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I recevied a Bachelor’s of Music in Voice Performance with a minor in Advertising/PR. This fall, I’ll be joining the Maryland Opera Studio as a first-year Master’s student at the University of Maryland, College Park.

As someone who’s always been drawn to creative storytelling, opera has always been the medium that inspires me most. With singing, I’ve learned to find joy in each step of the process: the serenity of a practice room all to myself, the triumph of conquering a phrase I’ve been rehearsing for weeks, and the warmth I feel after seeing familiar faces in the crowd during performances. These are only some of the moments that have kept me going on this journey, and I am beyond excited to see where else it takes me.
